This weekend, take a look inside an indoor Winter Wonderland or drop your children off at the Sterling United Methodist Church for arts and crafts, and catch up on your Christmas shopping. Sunday afternoon, enjoy an original Christmas Reindeer show by Middleburg's Tom Swetizer at the Franklin Park Performing and Visual Arts Center.

Winter Wonderland

A Sterling home has been transformed into a Christmas wonderland, with each room adorned in garland, villages and handmade decorations. Over 70 Christmas trees, each with a different theme, are spread throughout the house. The home is available for tours Saturday, Dec. 13 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., and is located on 234 Markwood Drive. Cookies will be served.

The event is coordinated by the Matts family and Potomac Falls DECA. Tours are free, but donations are accepted to benefit the ALS Association.

Sterling Parents' Night Out

In need of a few extra hours to relax or do your Christmas shopping? On Friday, Dec. 12, Sterling United Methodist Church is hosting a parents' night. Parents may drop off potty-trained children age three through grade five at 6 p.m. and pick them up at 9 p.m.

Rudolph–Behind The Red Nose

Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer has a brother, and he's tired of being left out. Visit the Franklin Park Performing and Visual Arts Center Sunday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. for Rudolph–Behind the Red Nose, a show written, directed and starring Tom Sweitzer and Benjamin Shoenberger.

Bring a new winter hat, gloves or scarf to put on the Christmas tree and receive your choice of a free beverage or snack item from the concession stand. The donations will be given to the Community Holiday Coalition to help those in need.
