Labor Day weekend in Loudoun you'll have the option of indulging in some wine-tasting at Loudoun Valley Vineyards during their annual Labor Day party. Or, spend Saturday at Leesburg Executive Airport for a public fly-in. Or, if you're looking for something more low-key, take advantage of one of Loudoun's parks with a picnic lunch. Have other parks you enjoy spending time in? Let us know!

Food, Wine and Music at Loudoun Valley Vineyards

This Saturday and Sunday, Loudoun Valley Vineyards will be throwing a Labor Day party with live music, food and wine.

In the past, the vineyard's Labor Day celebration has brought out as many as 300 people. This year, the two day event will feature Ken Wenzel, a local musician, playing acoustic guitar.

Owner Bree Moore said that hamburgers and hot dogs will be for sale at the vineyard, but people are also welcome to bring their own food to the event. Wine-tasting will be available as well for $5-$10 depending on your group's size.

Pets and children are welcome at the celebration, which will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Loudoun Valley Vineyards is located at 38516 Charles Town Pike in Waterford. For more information call 540-882-3375.

Leesburg Fly-In

This Labor Day weekend, Leesburg Executive Airport will be throwing a fly-in open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

A B-17 from the experimental aircraft association will be out during the day- taking up 12 passengers at a time. Curious viewers can pay a few to be one of the lucky passengers.

In addition, several Warbirds, some of the Diamond flight school aircrafts, a Cessna, and a helicopter ambulance will be on display. Some home-built experimental airplanes will also be out, likely giving rides to those that are interested.

Food will be available for purchase from vendors at the site, though visitors are welcome to bring their own food along.

As the airport will still be open for business, cadets will patrol the area in order to keep visitors out of harm's way and in a safe location.

The Leesburg Executive Airport is located at 1001 Sycolin Road SE Ste 7. For more information call 703-737-7125
