Crime Blotter: Assaults, Suspicious Person

Authorities are investigating two assaults, a report of a suspicious person in Ashburn, and two vehicle thefts, according to a daily report from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

- Burglary: Ronald M. Vasquez-Torres, 20, of Sterling, was charged with Burglary after he allegedly entered a home in the 45300 block of Saynamkhan Court in Sterling. The incident, which occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 18, remains under investigation.

- Larceny: The window of a vehicle in the 46400 block of Hampshire Station Drive in Sterling was damaged and a GPS unit was stolen, causing a total of $250 in damage, between 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 p.m. Friday.

- Auto Theft: A white and blue Mini Cooper worth $15,000 was stolen from the area of Woodson Road and Shallow Rock Road in Sterling between 10:30 p.m. Thursday and 2 p.m. Friday.

- Larceny: A GPS unit worth $250 was stolen from a vehicle in the 1000 block of Temple Court in Sterling around noon on Friday.

- Grand Larceny: An MP3 player and GPS unit were stolen from a vehicle outside of a home in the 500 block of Buckthorn Court in Sterling between 9:30 p.m. Thursday and 4:30 a.m. Friday. A bicycle was also reported missing from outside the home. The items are valued at a total of $815.

- Larceny:Food products were stolen from a vehicle in the 120 block of Andrew Place in Sterling between 1 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.

- Vehicle Tampering/Larceny: Eight vehicles in the areas of Frame Square, Welby Terrace, Field Station Terrace, Ivywood Terrace, Centerpost Terrace and Duck Creek Square in Ashburn were broken into around 4:15 a.m. on Saturday. All of the vehicles had been left unlocked. Cash, a GPS unit, credit cards and a laptop were stolen.

- Larceny/Destruction of Property: Someone entered a vehicle in the 21400 block of Rusty Blackhaw Square in Sterling and removed a laptop and an MP3 player worth a total of $1,250. The incident occurred between 7 p.m. Friday and 5:45 a.m. Saturday.

- Destruction of Property: Someone spray painted graffiti on playground equipment in the area of Great Trail Terrace and Davis Drive in Sterling between noon Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday.

- Malicious Wounding: Someone struck a waitress at the Princess Restaurant in the 200 block of E. Holly Avenue in Sterling with a bottle. The suspect, who had been dining at the restaurant, fled the area on foot. He is described as Hispanic with a shaved head and wearing a black-and-white striped T-shirt and jeans. The incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. on Saturday.

- Auto Theft/Recovered: A 2002 Yamaha was stolen from the 20800 block of Isherwood Terrace in Ashburn sometime between 1 p.m. Saturday and shortly after 8 a.m. Sunday. It was found in Prince George's County, Md.

- Tampering with a Vehicle: Someone damaged a passenger side window of a vehicle in the 17590 block of Tedler Circle in Round Hill yesterday between midnight and 9 a.m.

- Motorcycle Crash: On Sunday, deputies responded around 11 a.m. to the area of Old Carolina Road and Buchannon Gap Road in Aldie for a report of an off-road motorcyclist who had crashed. Travis S. Frye, 25, of Leesburg, had been riding a Kawasaki KX85 off-road motorcycle southbound on the roadway when, for unknown reasons, the motorcycle ran off the right side of the road in a left turn in the roadway. Frye and the motorcycle became separated as they tumbled to a rest. Frye, who was not wearing a helmet or other safety equipment, was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital where he remains hospitalized in critical condition. Frye was found off the side of the road by a passing motorist.

- Suspicious Person/Trespass: Residents of a home in the 43100 block of Riders Square in Ashburn were having a party on Friday when they saw and unknown person inside the home. The person appeared to be intoxicated and was forced out of the home. A second person was then seen in the area and residents contacted authorities around 10 p.m.

- Assault/Drunk in Public: A deputy was on foot patrol in the 19200 block of Promenade Drive area when an assault occurred in the Lansdowne Town Center on Saturday, around 1:40 a.m. The assault was apparently over comments made about a female. Edward L. Hogan, 23, of Manassas, was charged with assault, obstruction of justice, and disorderly conduct. He remains held without bond. Four other subjects were charged with drunk in public.

- Destruction of Property: Several teenagers were reported to be banging on doors and throwing trash cans in the 43800 block of Camellia Street in Ashburn around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday. One of the doors was dented. The teenagers were located and several parents were contacted to pick up the teens. The case is pending.

- Assault: Deputies were called to the Lansdowne Campus of Inova Loudoun Hospital for a report of an assault. The victim reported being chased and assaulted by several unknown subjects in the 46700 block of Sugarland Run Drive in Sterling between 2 and 2:30 a.m. on Sunday. The victim had superficial wounds to his arms and legs. The incident remains under investigation.
