The Loudoun County Community Health Center has been inundated the past few weekends with families wanting to take advantage of free student physicals. Preschoolers and kindergartners, as well as older children who are new to Loudoun County Public Schools, were eligible for the physicals.
This is the first year that the center has offered free physicals, and the staff was expecting to conduct only about 30 physicals the first day. However, last Saturday staff members arrived to find an overwhelming number of families, and completed 110 physicals.
Yesterday was no different, the center almost matching last Saturday in the number of physicals completed. Students went through eye exams, development tests and more, and at the end were offered a backpack full of school supplies, provided by the Junior League.
