Football Practice Kicks Off

Football practice begins this week for most Loudoun County high schools (Freedom-South Riding got a jump on things Friday). Here is a list of practice times and other key dates. The first game is Aug. 28, with Broad Run playing at Wakefield, and eight games involving Loudoun schools will be played the next night.

Briar Woods: Two-a-days start Monday and run through Aug. 13. Practices are 8-11:30 a.m. and 5:30-8:15 p.m. Home scrimmage vs. Potomac, 5 p.m. Aug. 15. First game is 7:30 p.m. Aug. 29 vs. Millbrook.

Broad Run: First practice is 8 a.m. Monday, with an afternoon session at 1 p.m. Scrimmage at Stone Bridge, 7 p.m. Aug. 15.

Dominion: First practice is 3:30 p.m. Monday. First game is 7:30 p.m. Aug. 29 vs. Washington-Lee.

Freedom-South Riding: Two-a-days will take place Monday through Friday until Aug. 19. Practices will run 2-8 p.m. with a break. Home scrimmages vs. Washington (W.Va.), 10 a.m. Aug. 16, and vs. Central of Woodstock, 5:30 p.m. Aug. 21. First game is 7:30 p.m. Aug. 29 vs. Broadway.

Heritage: Two-a-days start Monday and go through Aug. 19. Practice times are 8-10 a.m. and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Home scrimmage vs. Fairfax, 7 p.m. Aug. 21. First game is 7:30 p.m. Aug. 29 at South Lakes.

Loudoun County: Practice begins 8 a.m. Monday. Scrimmages at George Mason, 6 p.m. Aug. 15, and Skyline, 6 p.m. Aug. 21. First game is 7 p.m. Aug. 29 at Musselman (W.Va.).

Loudoun Valley: First practice is 6:30-9:30 p.m. Tuesday. Two-a-days after that through Aug. 15, 3:30-6 p.m. and 7-9:30 p.m. Home scrimmage vs. James Wood, 6 p.m. Aug. 23. First game is 7:30 p.m. Sept. 5 at Forest Park.

Park View: First practice is Monday at 2:30 p.m. Home scrimmage vs. Turner Ashby Aug. 15, p.m. First game is Aug. 29 at Herndon, 7:30 p.m.

Potomac Falls: Two-a-days begin Monday and run through Aug. 15. Practices are 8-10:30 a.m. and 4-6:30 p.m. Home scrimmage vs. Handley, 10 a.m. Aug. 16. First game is 7:30 p.m. Aug. 29 vs. Martinsburg (W.Va.).

Stone Bridge: Practice opens 8 a.m. Tuesday. Scrimmages vs. Broad Run, 7 p.m. Aug. 15, and Woodbridge, 7 p.m. Aug. 21. First game is 7:30 p.m. Aug. 29 vs. West Springfield.
