Squirrels Are Pulled From Engine
STERLING, Cranston Street, Monday. An animal control officer responded to a report of squirrels trapped in the engine compartment of a vehicle. The officer was able to locate and remove the two young squirrels. They appeared healthy, so they were released to the nearby wild.
Injured Cat Is Hospitalized
ASHBURN, Settlers Trail Terrace, Monday. A cat was reported running loose and appeared injured. An officer located the male black cat, which appeared to have been hit by a car. The cat was not wearing identification and was not microchipped. The officer transported the cat to a veterinary hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Jersey Dog Is Returned to Owner
ASHBURN, Mapleton Court, Monday. An officer located a dog that had been found running loose and had been confined. The dog was wearing identification and the officer contacted the owner, who was visiting from New Jersey. The officer returned the dog.
SAfter Crash, Dogs Get ShelterS
STERLING, Cascades Parkway, Tuesday. An officer responded to a report of an auto accident with dogs in the car. The officer found that the two dogs were uninjured but that the owner was being taken to the hospital. The officer transported the dogs to the animal shelter until the owner was released and could reclaim them.
Cat Goes Car-Hopping
PURCELLVILLE, East Main Street, Tuesday. Someone reported that a cat was trying to jump into cars at a 7-Eleven. An officer picked up the cat, which had been confined by a resident. The cat was not wearing identification and was not microchipped. The officer transported the cat to the animal shelter.
