Potomac Falls quarterback Gregory Woodlief threw three touchdown passes but the Panthers squandered a halftime lead for the third straight week, falling 42-21 at Jefferson (W.Va.) County.
Potomac Falls (0-3), which has eight players who compete on both sides on the ball, ran out of gas, Coach Scott Woodlief said.
“Right now I think our kids are still trying to get in game shape, and still trying to learn how to finish,” Woodlief said. “They just kind of died [in the second half]."
The Panthers led 14-12 after the first quarter, and 21-20 at intermission. Tarrell Owens, Chad McMichael and Chris Pelto each caught touchdown passes for the Panthers.
