BRIAR WOODS 40, MILLBROOK 14
Senior quarterback Alex Munro posted a career high in touchdown passes with three, leading Briar Woods to its second consecutive road victory.
Munro was 16 of 21 for 160 yards, completing passes to eight different receiversand and leading the Falcons to 24 first downs. It was a similar effort to last week, when Munro was 16 of 25 for 199 yards in a 28-13 win over Hedgesville in West Virginia.
Munro's touchdown pass to Devin Barber in the first quarter opened up the running game, which finished with 280 yards and four touchdowns on 47 attempts. Allen Jackson led the way with 77 yards on nine carries.
SOUTH LAKES 12, HERITAGE 7
Heritage quarterback Ross Madison rushed for a career-high 134 yards on 21carries, but Heritage could not get past visiting AAA school South Lakes in both teams’ season opener.
South Lakes junior Brandon Price scored touchdowns in the first and second quarter to give the Seahawks a 12-0 halftrime lead. Price finished with 127 yards on 23 carries.
Ross Madison scored on a five-yard run in the third quarter for Heritage.
MUSSELMAN (W.VA.) 21, LOUDOUN COUNTY 7
Loudoun County wide receiver Joe Bushrod scored on a 24-yard pass from Kelly Reimers in the first quarter, capping an 80-yard drive for the Raiders, but the team gave up three unanswered touchdowns during a 21-7 loss to Musselman in Leesburg.

The Raiders outgained the Applemen 300-216, but failed to sustain drives after their opening march.
Reimers was 12 for 24 for 150 yards and Bushrod added 59 yards receiving. Erik Kolodziej and Adam Yesuf combined for 83 rushing yards for Loudoun County.

Can Briar Woods make it three straight playoff appearances after jumping up to Division 4?
The Spartans had state title repeats in softball (third in a row) and girls' soccer (back to back).
