It was a happy homecoming for Briar Woods on Friday.

Quarterback Alex Munro threw three touchdown passes as the Falcons dominated Loudoun County, 49-14.

Briar Woods (5-1, 2-1 AA Dulles) started the game with a touchdown drive that took more than seven minutes, capping the drive with a Munro scoring pass to Jeremy Gray for 15 yards, putting the Falcons up 6-0.

Munro's two other touchdown passes were to wide receiver Tim King, including a 16-yard pass in the first half and a 40-yarder in the second.

"My wide receivers stepped up and made big plays tonight, and my offensive line did a great job of protecting me," Munro said. "Any time we get a rhythm we're a dangerous team in this district."

Briar Woods didn't rely solely on the arm of Munro, giving Billy McDonald, JT Bailey and Andrew Davidson chances to make big plays. Bailey and McDonald scored two touchdowns apiece. The defense also played well, forcing five turnovers, including two fumbles.

The Raiders got on the board with five minutes, 21 seconds left in the second quarter as running back Elliot Baker ran 19 yards for a touchdown to make it 21-8.

But Briar Woods answered with a 60-yard kickoff return by Devin Barber that set up Munro's 16-yard scoring pass to King, his first catch of the game.

Loudoun County's second touchdown came on a Joe Bushrod pass to running back Jose VeraTedula for 16 yards. After a failed two-point conversion attempt, the Raiders went into the locker room down 28-14 at halftime.

After the half, Briar Woods scored three more touchdowns while Munro was under center and then brought in sophomore quarterback Austin Frattali for some playing time, but Frattali relied heavily on the running game to finish off with a 49-14 win for homecoming.

Wide receiver Jack Lewis, a senior, was a bright spot for Loudoun County (0-6, 0-3), making a 30-yard reception that would set up the Raiders' first touchdown and another 40-yard reception that would set up the second.
