The Dulles Area Association of Realtors reported 288 homes sold by Realtors in September. That’s down from 411 homes in August and 383 homes during September 2006.
The median sales price of those homes also dropped. The Realtor association reported a median price of $425,500 in September – down from $444,500 last month and $440,000 during the same period last year.
Realtors also reported that homes were staying on the market longer.
Last month, the average number of days for a home on the market was 111, up from 93 days the previous month and 109 days a year ago.
The Realtor association said there were 3,753 active listings in September, which increased slightly from 3,712 listings a month earlier. The number of listings grew from January through May this year, but has held steady since the beginning of the summer.
Sellers were getting an average of 92 percent of their list price, the association said.
