Many residents of a Sterling neighborhood awoke Sunday to find the windows in their vehicles had been shot out with a BB gun. About a dozen vehicles were damaged late Saturday or early Sunday, the Loudoun County sheriff's office said Sunday.
Sheriff's office spokesman Kraig Troxell said a vandal or vandals fired BB pellets seemingly at random windows of cars parked along Sterling Boulevard between Church Road and Briar Patch Park.
Neighbors spent Sunday morning cleaning up the mess.
“There's glass everywhere,” said resident Benita Rowell, a school teacher. “It's one house after another.”
