Franklin Todd England, who worked briefly for the school system and was a former counselor at the Loudoun juvenile detention center, was first arrested in November 2004 and released on a $5,000 bond. He fled the state and was arrested again in San Francisco in June 2006. He pleaded guilty to the charges in March.

Loudoun Circuit Court Judge Thomas D. Horne sentenced England to one year in jail for each of the 35 counts but suspended nine months of each sentence.

England already has served 14 months.

“I’m just happy the guy is going to be removed from the community for a significant period of time,” Loudoun Commonwealth’s Attorney Jim Plowman said in an interview. "We were very concerned when he fled the jurisdiction and he was missing. I'm happy he's now being held accountable for these crimes that exploit young children."

England's lawyer, Al Nunley, declined comment on the sentence.
