Western Loudoun Home Burglarized

Authorities are investigating a burglary to a western Loudoun County home, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said this morning.

The burglary occurred between 2 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Sunday in the 13000 block of Sagle Road. The burglar or burglars entered the home after damaging a front door, the sheriff’s office said.

A laptop computer and two DVD players were taken. They had a total value of $2,010, investigators said.

Fireworks Used to Damage Sterling Mailboxes

Authorities are looking for the person or people responsible for setting off fireworks inside mailboxes in Sterling.

One incident occurred between about 1:30 p.m. Thursday and 1:30 p.m. Friday in the 800 block of Potomac Ridge Court, the sheriff’s office said. A similar incident occurred between 2:30 p.m. Thursday and 2:30 p.m. Friday in the 20500 block of Broad Run Drive.

The cases have been turned over to the Fire Marshal’s Office.

Sterling Laundry Business Burglarized

Someone forced their way into the Sterling Coin Laundry and removed money from a change machine, as well as cash from a safe, the sheriff’s office said.

The person also tried to gain entry into an ATM, but wasn’t successful. The incident was reported at 12:17 p.m. Friday in the 22300 block of Sterling Boulevard.

Ashburn Assault Leads to Arrest

A 16-year-old Ashburn teenager was assaulted and robbed Saturday evening near the intersection of Gatwick Square and Wintergrove Drive, authorities said.

The teenager was walking with a friend at about 5:30 p.m. when he was approached by Mostafa Motaweh, 19, of Ashburn, the sheriff’s office said. Motaweh allegedly threw the teenager on the grown and assaulted him, authorities said.

He has been charged with robbery and simple assault.

Teen Robbed, Assaulted in Ashburn

Authorities are investigating the assault of a 17-year-old Ashburn resident that took place Friday evening.

The teenager reported that he was assaulted by an unknown man at about 7:30 p.m. on a bike path near the intersection of Thistlewood Court and Windmill Drive in Ashburn. The man removed the victim's wallet and took a small amount of cash, the sheriff's office said.
