Questions & Answers

Q: In March, the Virginia Supreme Court ruled the transportation package passed by lawmakers last year unconstitutional, endangering major projects across the region. What steps, if any, should the county, region and state take to address funding issues for transportation projects?

A: *NR*

Q: What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

A: Keeping the small-town feeling with a balance of residential and commercial. Middleburg is really a 'village,' and as we expand and develop, it is important to remember why we love to live and work here. A good residential community is key to a vibrant town.

Q: How would you rate your town’s relationship with Loudoun County officials and what, if anything, would you do to improve that relationship?

A: I think we have a very good working relationship with Loudoun County officials.

Q: Do you believe additional steps are needed to control the pace of development in your community?

A: Yes! With the arrival of Salamander the town has effectively doubled in size. Our challenge now is to restrict future sprawl and make better use of existing town lands.

Q: Why should voters elect you?

A: Experience: four years on the Town Council and my previous years as a member of the Middleburg Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals.
