Questions & Answers

Q: In March, the Virginia Supreme Court ruled the transportation package passed by lawmakers last year unconstitutional, endangering major projects across the region. What steps, if any, should the county, region and state take to address funding issues for transportation projects?

A: One way to help address the current & future problems is proper planning and development. We need to make sure proffers are appropriate. Development should not make the problem worst, but help alleviate the burden.

Q: What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

A: There are several issues that Lovettsville faces, but I would have to say growth would be the biggest issue. Growth that isn't properly planned leads to traffic issues and insufficient resources for the residents. Lovettsville has seen a lot of activity recently, and I would like to see that the town keeps the small-town charm that most residents have come to love. Many would like to see new services come to the town without losing the small-town feeling. If the growth isn't planned correctly, Lovettsville risks losing the small-town atmosphere.

Q: How would you rate your town’s relationship with Loudoun County officials and what, if anything, would you do to improve that relationship?

A: I would continue to have an open dialog with the county officials. Working with the officials on the park and school will continue to strengthen the relationship and benefit the residents of Loudoun County.

Q: Do you believe additional steps are needed to control the pace of development in your community?

A: I wouldn't say steps are need to control the pace. However, I do believe steps are needed to ensure proper development. Many residents would like to see something in our beautiful town center.

Q: Why should voters elect you?

A: I'm a long-term resident of Loudoun County, and I would like to make a difference for the town.
