Questions & Answers

Q: What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

A: Finding ways to increase our tax base without burdening the homeowners. We need to make and complete upgrades to our wastewater and water treatment plants. Additionally, costs for our utility system continue to increase, often through unfunded mandates from the state and federal government.

Q: How would you rate your town’s relationship with Loudoun County officials and what, if anything, would you do to improve that relationship?

A: *NR*

Q: Do you believe additional steps are needed to control the pace of development in your community?

A: I would love to see a bill passed that allowed towns and counties to asses impact fees on developers. Until that day, we are a property rights state, and local government is severely limited.

Q: In March, the Virginia Supreme Court ruled the transportation package passed by lawmakers last year unconstitutional, endangering major projects across the region. What steps, if any, should the county, region and state take to address funding issues for transportation projects?

A: Our town of 750 has problems of a different scope. I believe we need to see a newer, more mature group of leaders in the State House. There's not much we in Hamilton can do.

Q: Why should voters elect you?

A: No response given.
