Questions & Answers

Q: What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

A: Available and dependable water at an affordable price to residents; curbing the excessive spending of town government; healing the town's relationship with Loudoun County, starting with the cessation of all litigation against the county.

Q: How would you rate your town’s relationship with Loudoun County officials and what, if anything, would you do to improve that relationship?

A: Poorly; Purcellville needs to stop all litigation against the county; Town officials need to meet regularly with county officials to foster good relationships and focus on the needs of the town and surrounding areas.

Q: Do you believe additional steps are needed to control the pace of development in your community?

A: Yes. We need a more open town government that fosters citizen participation in urban planning, development, and quality of life in the community.

Q: In March, the Virginia Supreme Court ruled the transportation package passed by lawmakers last year unconstitutional, endangering major projects across the region. What steps, if any, should the county, region and state take to address funding issues for transportation projects?

A: The State Legislature needs to pass a new transportation package that is responsive to the Court decision and that ensures that the financial burden is fairly shared.

Q: Why should voters elect you?

A: I will exercise a mindset of fiscal restraint and foster a good working relationship between town and county.
