Questions & Answers

Q: What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

A: The town must be able to provide adequate infrastructure, including public utilities and transportation improvements, to support the recently adopted comprehensive plan. The successful implementation of that plan will provide the jobs, goods and services, recreational opportunities and economic base sought by our residents.

Q: How would you rate your town’s relationship with Loudoun County officials and what, if anything, would you do to improve that relationship?

A: During my first term the council has worked as a partner with the county to successfully complete public projects such as the Public Safety Center , Carver Senior Center, Community Center Expansion and ULYFL Sportsplex.

Q: Do you believe additional steps are needed to control the pace of development in your community?

A: The current Council adopted a comprehensive plan in 2007 which incorporates our community's vision for change in an orderly and controlled manner.

Q: In March, the Virginia Supreme Court ruled the transportation package passed by lawmakers last year unconstitutional, endangering major projects across the region. What steps, if any, should the county, region and state take to address funding issues for transportation projects?

A: The state and county should continue to find ways to complete the plan started by the NVTA. If that fails they should look at other creative ways like lottery proceeds funding education needs.

Q: Why should voters elect you?

A: I have the proven ability to work as part of a team to get things done for our community rather than focusing on personal recognition.
