AUGUST 3

The Loudoun County Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management, in partnership with Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue, is pleased to announce that the Lansdowne Public Safety Center, located at 19485 Sandridge Way, will open for operations Thursday, August 6.

The 13,000 sq. ft. facility, which is located on a 2.36 acre developer-proffered site will serve as a combined fire-rescue station and a law enforcement satellite office.

The fire-rescue station includes apparatus bays, bunkroom facilities, training/break room, restrooms/showers, food preparation/dining areas, laundry and decontamination areas, supply storage, gear/hose drying area, breathing apparatus air compressor room, offices, and repair shop.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office will occupy office space and a conference area at the facility as well.

The Lansdowne Public Safety Center, Station 22, will house a fire engine and an advanced life support ambulance. The station will also serve as the headquarters for the Battalion Chief for the 1st battalion. The new station will provide comprehensive fire and emergency medical services 24-hour a day, 7-days-a-week for the Lansdowne community.

"The opening of a first-class facility such as the Lansdowne fire station is exciting for our department and will better serve the citizens in the Lansdowne area," commented Loudoun County Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management Chief Joseph Pozzo.

A grand opening ceremony is being planned. A date and time will be announced in the near future.
