Three Politicians Walk Into an Optometrist's Office...

Imagine my surprise this afternoon.

I'm at the optometrist's office at Leesburg's Virginia Village Shopping Center - my daughter's getting her new eyeglasses fitted - when Congressman Frank Wolf (R-10), Delegate Joe May (R-33) and Virginia's presumed GOP gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell come strolling through the door.

Turns out the trio - accompanied by a few staffers - were doing a quick, on-foot meet-and-greet with some local businesses following McDonnell's 2 p.m. "Make Virginia a Gang-Free Zone" speech at the Loudoun County Court House.

Luckily, I had my camera with me and snapped a photo of the three gentlemen.

For more details about McDonnell's anti-gang policy, check out this Loudoun Times Mirror item.

Admittedly, I haven't done much research on any of the candidates running for governor - even though the TV commercials, mailings and robo-calls are beckoning me to do so.

McDonnell will most likely be placed this Saturday on the Republican ticket, but it's still a three-man race for the Dems. The Democratic primary will be held statewide June 9 to determine if Creigh Deeds, Terry McAuliffe or Brian Moran will be facing McDonnell in November's election.

Do you have a favorite candidate yet? If so, who and why? Let us know in the comments field below.

Has Frank Wolf ever been photographed smiling?
