The Center for Public Integrity, a nonprofit group dedicated to investigative journalism, posted an article today on its Land Use Accountability Project Web page detailing the controversy surrounding the Loudoun County Public School system's failed purchase of the Wheatland Farm property.
In the article, authors Dusty Smith and M.J. Zuckerman write that FBI and Federal Education Department investigators have interviewed several local residents and county employees about Wheatland and other LCPS land purchases.

Hmmmmm.....the FBI supposedly spends an awful lot of time investigating Loudoun officials without ever reaching any conclusions........

Shevco is correct. What ever happened to the big FBI probe of 2007 that the Post went gonzo about?

kreid, don't you know they're still looking at us?
ALL of us?
Me too!
Just like the FTC is investigating the hospital issue.
Funny, but the CPI land use project only covers certain areas in MD, VA, and PA--which I guess is why it is funded by nonprofits, foundations and trusts that focus on Chesapeake preservation.
And also funny, the stories it publishes in such a peculiarly timely manner are usually accompanied by a blog rollout, but seldom by news articles.
Well, I'll wait and see.
I'm still waiting to get arrested on the LAST one.

The BOS officials who were under investigation were all booted from office. Guess the Feds figured that was good enough for them.

risk, that's not only silly, it's wrong.
If the FBI thinks crimes were committed, they don't just say "never mind" like Emily Litella because someone loses an election.
People got a lot of mileage out of that neverending story, and it looks like they still are!
lol

Yes Dean, I'm still waiting for those indictments that were DEFINITELY coming before the 07 election.
DEFINITELY!
Wait for it.......
wait for it..........
waaaiiiiiit for it.......................
So, when does the anonymous anti-school board PAC fire up with paper filings to hide which special interest the money is coming from?
That's step three, after the FOIAs, and the non-news stories, right?
Still waiting, Dean.
