Leesburg has a new look online. The town's new Web site went live on Friday after a $50,000 renovation.
Leesburg's Director of Information Technology, Wendy Wickens, said in a phone interview today that the site's new set-up is a "more conversational way to access information."
For example, on the top right-hand side of the home page, there's a simple "I Want To..." button with a drop-down selection of the site's most popular features - be it paying a parking ticket online, browsing town documents or even reporting a dead animal on the road.
The site also offers more information for business owners and visitors than before, Wickens said.
"The pages [devoted to businesses, tourism and history] have more than doubled from 350 to 750," she said.
Within six months, the town plans to offer the Web site's New Resident Information page in Spanish for the county's burgeoning Spanish-speaking population. You may recall that Loudoun County began offering government services information in Spanish on its Web site in September 2008.
Maid To Please is offering LoudounExtra.com readers $25 off their first house cleaning, or $10 their third house cleaning.

And how do I get the most recent Town Council meeting minutes? Ah, that's right, they aren't there. In fact, despite a revamp, the info on the site is still 2, 3, or more months behind.
