The Loudoun Valley HomeGrown Markets Association will open a new farmers market in Brambleton this Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Chevy Chase Bank parking lot at the Brambleton Town Center. The market will continue to be held on the first Sunday of each month until Nov. 1.
Twelve local vendors will be on site to sell their freshly picked produce (of course), pasture-raised and hormone-free meats, local wines, honey, baked goods and other gourmet treats.
To kick off the market's opening, visitors this Sunday will be able to plant a sunflower seed in an eco-friendly newspaper pot to nurture and grow over the summer. The winner of the largest sunflower in September will get to display their flower at the Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum.

The ONE good thing about Loudoun is the AMAZING farmer's market!! The fruits & veggies are the best. And the mozzarella from Blue Ridge dairy - yum!! Now I have a hard time eating it from restaurants. I can no longer eat eggs from the grocery store. I bought a chicken (and while I felt really bad about it), it was THE best chicken I have ever cooked. And I returned to tell the man responsible how awesome it was. It's VERY easy to get VERY spoiled having such wonderful food grown so close by and having a conversation with the person who grew it and brought it almost to your door. Brambleton, you're in for some fabulous treats!! Don't forget to bring your re-usable grocery bags :))
