School Administrators at Ashburn's Broad Run High School are sending home notices with students today to let parents know that a student at the school has tested positive for the H1N1 virus.
Loudoun County Public Schools spokesman, Wayde Byard, said in a phone interview that "it was a mild case," and that a full investigation ensued to protect the health of any students, teachers or staff that may have been in contact with the patient.
Byard said the notice was sent home today "in the name of full disclosure." To protect the student's privacy, Byard could not comment on details about the student, or if he or she has recovered and is back at school.
You may recall that the first confirmed H121 case in Loudoun County was announced last week. Byard said that the Broad Run case announced today is not related to last week's.
