Loudoun County was highlighted in a segment on NBC’s 'Today Show' this morning as part of a weeklong series on battleground states in the upcoming presidential election.
Matt Lauer and Al Roker, hosts of the popular morning show, broadcast live from Williamsburg this morning as the show focused on the swing state of Virginia.
In the LoCo clip, 'Today Show' correspondent Amy Robach interviewed two Leesburg couples, Ann and Stacey Jansen and Liz and Ed Burns, and asked them who they’ll be voting for in November and why.
In the video, George Mason University professor of public policy Mark Rozell said Loudoun is “representative of a change that’s taking place in much of Virginia politics and that is that many of these outlying communities have really started to turn purple.”
Do you think the video accurately portrays Loudoun voter sentiment? Let us know below!

What they failed to report was the "undecided" Jansen family are rabid Obama operatives posing as "undecided". The Today Show was used for Obama propaganda.

Here it is: Ann Jansen, $345 to Barack Obama. Seems like she's pretty decided.

Oh, and if husband Stacey wants to keep working in the defense industry, he'd better hope McCain wins.

I was pleased to see the Leesburg Outlets on national TV. Why? I have no idea.

Hey Dingus2, the Today report said the Jansen's were "unaffiliated" not "undecided" and they clearly stated that they were Obama supporters. So what if Ann Jansen contributed to his campaign, the point of the story was to present both sides. Go back and check the video for yourself http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/v...
I think you have been watching too many Oliver Stone movies....

Don't be a dingus- check your facts before you blather. The piece was supposed to show 2 different families who supported different tickets.

I did not say the Jansesns were not Obama supporters; kmccorma said the Today Show presented them as undecided. Clearly that was wrong and I showed Mrs. Jansen made a sizable contribution to the Obama campaign.

What a crock dingus. It's a given in the defense industry that no matter who's in the WH, the industry always does well. You clearly don't work in defense, nor have you a coherent understanding of this sector.
Erica - my opinion of the Today segment was that it should have included a third family interview. I don't think Loudoun is truly 50/50. I see a lot more Obama support here, perhaps 60/40 might be more accurate. Also the family that supports McCain appeared remarkably uninformed despite the enormous amount of info available on both candidates. Unfortunately there're always voters who remain clueless and base their decisions on the narrowest of reasons. This family appears to be one of them.

truthseeker (sic): You may see a lot of Obama stickers and yard signs but that's only because libs tend to overdo it bit with their campaign flair. Check out the next lib-mobile and see how many stickers for (D) candidates are on it; probably about ten. Conservatives, on the other hand, tend not to hog wild with the stickers, if they show any at all. It's an observable fact, you can look it up.

Campaign "flair"? Both parties have plenty of people displaying signs and bumper stickers. I don't think there is more of one or the other and I don't think it matters. The important thing is that people are interested in voting in this election.

Off the mark again dingus. You have wrongly assumed my opinion is based upon stickers/signs? Actually I've seen remarkably few signs/stickers of either party. I just listen and observe. You should do the same.
