Meghan Louttit, our producer for LoudounExtra.com, sent in bits of information to our Twitter feed of what she saw and heard at the Biden rally in Sterling. Below is an edited compilation of them, for those of you who don't follow Twitter. Stay tuned this afternoon for a more comprehensive blog item about the event from Erica Garman, our lead blogger for Living in LoCo.

1:56 p.m.: Biden is making his last rounds before leaving. Most of crowd is gone. And now I am, too.

1:42 p.m.: Most of the crowd filed out quickly; a small group at the front of the stage is still shaking hands with Biden.

1:40 p.m.: "The Rising" starts again.

1:39 p.m.: Biden greets the crowd.

1:38 p.m.: Big ending: "Yes we can" chant

1:35 p.m.: Biden says that raising taxes for the top 1 percent is about priorities.

1:34 p.m.: Biden: "All these things add up to one word: respect."

1:33 p.m.: Biden is moving fast through some issues: Minimum wage, affordable education, the "dignity of work."

1:30 p.m.: Biden: "I want McCain to tell me what he's going to do about what he values."

1:28 p.m.: Biden talks of the damage that McCain/Palin Supreme Court appointees could do.

1:26 p.m.: Biden: "Imagine where Social Security would be now if all that money had been privatized."

1:25 p.m.: The crowd emits loud boos to Biden's mention of John McCain's voting against the Violence Against Women Act.

1:14 p.m.: Obama's press people estimate that the crowd is at about 700 people.

1:11 p.m.: Joe Biden says granddaughter knows more about politics than most 30-year-olds.

1:09 p.m.: Joe Biden is speaking about the women in his family.

1:06 p.m.: Jill Biden: "I am thrilled for the teachers of America will finally have leadership."

1:05 p.m.: Jill Biden is speaking about how her husband supported her dreams, of getting her Ph.D.

1:04 p.m.: Joe Biden is standing with his granddaughter while his wife speaks.

1:02 p.m.: Jill Biden: "Joe's a man of faith with strong family values."

1 p.m.: Jill Biden, the candidate's wife, is speaking now.

12:59 p.m.: A "BI-DEN" chant starts. U2 is playing again from the speakers.

12:58 p.m.: The Bidens are coming on stage.

12:57 p.m.: Quincy Lucas, who also spoke at the Democratic National Convention, is on stage now.

12:50 p.m.: There was lots of talk about Biden's accomplishments on the issue of stemming violence against women.

12:47 p.m.: Mikulski really got the crowd pumped up.

12:42 p.m.: Mikulski: "And we don't need another George Bush in earrings..."

12:41 p.m.: Mikulski: "We women of America are mad as hell, and we're not gonna take it anymore."

12:40 p.m.: Maryland Sen. Barbara Mikulski is speaking: "I'm here today as your neighbor."

12:35 p.m.: "The Rising" on again. The playlist restarting either means he should be here or that they need a longer playlist.

12:34 p.m.: A short-lived "We want Joe" chant starts.

12:28 p.m.: The crowd is really getting into "Born in the USA." There is lots of dancing.

12:27 p.m.: Biden is "almost" here. Does he have a motorcade?

12:24 p.m.: The Secret Service are patrolling paths by the stage. Or maybe they are just wandering aimlessly.

12:22 p.m.: One member of the traveling press is passed out on a park bench.

12:19 p.m.: "Turn Virginia Blue" comment getting huge cheers. An organizer is now speaking about how to do so.

12:15 p.m.: Feder: "If Frank Wolf [the Republican incumbent for the 10th Congressional District seat] had the answers we'd have seen them already!"

12:14 p.m.: Feder: "The choice that we can't afford is more of the same . . . especially women."

12:13 p.m.: The traveling press arrives. Introductions begin -- Judy Feder [the Democratic candidate for the 10th Congressional District seat] is on stage.

12:08 p.m.: Large black SUVs just pulled up behind the stage. Lots of black suits. Think it's him?

Noon: "Change we Need" signs are mostly being used to block the sun. Only the brave ones wave them.

11:53 a.m.: Organizers instruct the VIP crowd to come to the stage as Bono's voice croons from the speakers.

11:47 a.m.: Here come the signs and free water. It's getting hot out here!

11:43 a.m.: A former Hillary Clinton supporter at the rally says that McCain looks down on people who disagree with him.

11:40 a.m.: A few young people at the rally are undecided. They want to see what Obama/Biden has planned for families.

11:38 a.m.: A woman with a "Hockey Mom" T-shirt is getting the crowd pumped up.

11:31 a.m.: Cue patriotic music: "Only in America" by Brooks and Dunn.

11:28 a.m.: There are also a good number of people in the youth-vote demographic. Shouldn't they be in school?

11:24 a.m.: Appropriately for a women's rally, there are mostly women in the crowd, with a few younger kids.

11:20 a.m.: Cue Springsteen music: "The Rising"

11:16 a.m.: Crowd filling in, almost to the back gate. VIP guests filing in on stage.

11:10 a.m.: Ladies from Wingler House in Ashburn: Best candidate ever!

11:02 a.m.: Woman at rally calls elections most important of her lifetime, especially for her kids.

10:40 a.m.: Gates open at Biden rally in Claude Moore Park. Small crowd in front of stage.
