Trash-Talkin' Cooley
Apparently, Redskin tight end Chris Cooley, who reportedly negotiated a $30 million extension with the team, doesn't like taking out the trash. (Geez, with that kind of coin can't you afford curbside service?)
Cooley, who lives in what he calls "the greatest house ever built" west of Leesburg with his new wife, Christy, writes in his blog: "I can't justify paying more than a couple bucks for someone to drive by and pour my trash into a truck."
So, Cooley takes his own garbage to the landfill.
In his blog's comments section, several fans offered to take out the trash for the beloved player, and a few even praised Cooley for "keepin' it real."
Bicycles, Books and Nail Guns, Oh My!
The LoCo Surplus Store will be open tomorrow, Saturday, June 28, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature the aforementioned bikes, books and nail guns, in addition to digital cameras, two circular saws, a Polaroid DVD player, and surplus office equipment. For a complete list of offerings at the 14 Cardinal Park Drive location, check out the store's Web site.
Campin' with the Po-Po
The Leesburg Police Department is accepting applications through June 30 for its eighth annual Junior Police Camp for middle school students. The two camp sessions run July 7 to July 18 and July 28 to Aug. 8. Campers will go on several field trips including the county courthouse, the magistrate's office and a team-building ropes course.
The camp, which focuses on law-enforcement education and character building, is described as faced-paced, and applicants must have a recommendation from a teacher, principal, scout leader or coach.

Maybe Dan Snyder can have Colley's garbage flown to a landfill in his private jet.
