Kaitlyn Maher, 4, of Ashburn is the youngest contestant to make it through to the Las Vegas round of the America's Got Talent competition.

The precocious kindergartner is singing on tonight's show, which was taped several weeks ago in Sin City.

The winners of tonight's Las Vegas round will advance to the top 40 -- then on subsequent shows, viewers will be able to vote for their favorite performers.

Kaitlyn's audition in New York was a hit -- the three judges unanimously moved her to the next stage of the competition. Her audition on YouTube has been viewed over 2.6 million times.

My favorite part of this clip -- aside from the adorableness of Kaitlyn and her singing -- was Kaitlyn's response to Sharon Osborne's question. She asked, "Are you from New York?" Kaitlyn replied, "No, I'm from America."

Reuben Maher, Kaitlyn's father, admits he had some reservations about allowing his home-schooled daughter to audition for the show, but said it's turned out to be a wonderful experience for her.

"She's been having a blast with this entire process," he said. "And the producers have been very gracious and considerate."

"I told Kaitlyn two things to remember in life," Maher added. "Try your best in everything you do and remember to have fun."

America's Got Talent airs tonight at 9 p.m. on NBC.
