Loudoun Prowler Still on the Loose
On the blog Hoodathunk?, blogger Ric James posts a prowler update. As recently as Sept. 3, there was a prowler sighting in Sterling when a woman saw a man she did not recognize standing outside her window. James quotes from wtopnews.com: "The woman, who lives in the 700 block of Dickinson Avenue, awoke at about 3:45 a.m. and saw the person outside her window. At that point, the person ran toward Dickinson Avenue." More about recent prowler sightings here.
Patriots Struggling to Get Back on Track
Patriots Head coach Andy Hill discusses losing the season's first two games on Virginiapreps's running email correspondence between himself and Football Editor Rod Johnson. "When the kids work hard and I cost them the game, that's a tough pill to swallow," wrote Hill. "What do we draw from this? I think that's still to be determined. We have a very good opponent waiting for us on Saturday when we travel to Handley. We will work our tails off to get the 'W', and while that will relieve a lot of egos and pressure on coaches, it is only valuable if it continues to build us in the direction of trying to win our district."
Ashburn Child Reaches Top 20 in "America's Got Talent"
The Loudoun Times-Mirror reported that the Kaitlyn Maher is getting closer to the final rounds of America's Got Talent. Loved by voters for her singing, the four year-old was voted into the top 20 for her performance of "What a Wonderful World" on Sept. 3. Maher is the youngest performer in the competition and will receive $100,000 and an act in Las Vegas if she wins.
