Silver Line Revival
Since the announcement of the extension of the Metro to Dulles, blogger Paradox13VA at Leesburg Tomorrow questions whether the costs outweigh the benefits of the project. "So, the project got conditional approval to proceed, based on the assumption that the cost will not increase and the timeline will not slip, but officials are already planning on cost increases and timeline extensions," he writes. "Explain again how this is a win?"
New Lights Not Up to Par
Ric James over at Hoodathunk? is glad that the new street lights at the corner of Countryside Parkway and Algonkian Parkway are finally installed, but he still thinks they aren't cutting it. "...It seems to me that the light from these fixtures does not extend all the way out into their side of the road," he writes. "The entire point of putting lights at the intersection was not to light the corner, but the crosswalk ... that light needs to be on the street."
For the Birds
The Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy is hosting two events in the next week where residents can learn more about birds and participate in fundraising events for the Conservancy, writes the blogger at Greener Loudoun. Also, "In recognition of the importance of healthy wildlife habitat, the Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy is sponsoring several 8:00 a.m. bird walks and an all-day bird survey throughout Loudoun County," he writes.
