Loudoun Is Top Place to Get Ahead
Loudoun County has been ranked No. 4 in a Forbes magazine list of "Best Places to Get Ahead." "Loudoun County is one of the D.C. suburbs of choice for government contractors and local high earners. … Jobs climbed an impressive 5% as the county continues to become its own independent business locale," the magazine wrote in its review.

Braddock Village Denied
Blogger Paradox13VA has posted his thoughts about the Board of Supervisors' decision to deny the Braddock Village development. LoudounExtra.com brought you the story yesterday. "Future development projects should take into account existing plans and goals before putting together their own designs and taking up the time of investors, county staff and public officials," he wrote. "Our Board of Supervisors are not against any development, they are against bad development. And Braddock Village was bad development."

NVTA Abandons Grantors Tax Collection
A recent ruling by the Virginia Supreme Court has eliminated the tax-collecting authority of the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority, including the grantors tax. Real estate bloggers Danilo and Tony have been following the decision closely. "Whether this means that the clerks of the courts will stop collecting them is another story. … There is still a 10 day appeal process available to the NVTA."
