Thoughts on Feder, Wal-Mart

Thoughts on Feder
Two Loudoun blogs post about their thoughts on Congressional candidate Judy Feder. The blog Too Conservative writes about how Feder and her campaign are "politically tone deaf" and the nature of her support base: "There’s her well known lack of in-district financial support. The vast majority of her money comes from outside the district." Blogger Paradox13VA discusses on his blog Leesburg Tomorrow, Feder's visit with the Loudoun County Democratic Party and the strategy for getting her elected. "The Feder campaign is part of the combined campaign initiative here in Loudoun," he writes. "The goal is to promote our fantastic slate of candidates, Sen. Obama, Gov. Warner and Judy Feder, in a major drive to victory."

Wal-Mart Fire
Brian over at the blog Becoming a Firefighter has a post today about last night's fire scare in the Leesburg Wal-Mart and his shock over how many people are actually in Wal-Mart at 4 a.m. "Around 3:30 a.m. the tones went off for a structure fire at the Wal-Mart in Leesburg," he writes. "There must have been at least 30 people in the parking lot ... We quickly zeroed in on the cause of the smoke as a burned up motor on one of the air handlers on the roof. I opened up the panel on the unit and smoke rolled out of the unit from some burned up wiring, luckily no fire, but that's what filled the back of the store with smoke."

Photo Makes Phone Book Cover
Dave Levinson on the blog Pastoral writes today that one of his photos is featured on the front of the new Loudoun and Faquier Yellow Pages. "This late afternnon shot was taken atop one of the silos located on Franklin Farm. The northerly facing view shows the town of Purcellville (Virginia) in the upper right corner," he writes. "I must say I'm pleased that a few hundred thousand of these are printed. Does anyone use these anymore?"

There is an emerging story of questionable dealings with Loudoun County Schools and land interests. Millions in overpayments. Way above appraisals. A whos who of conflicts of interests.
