Local real estate bloggers Danilo and Tony have posted some more information about Loudoun real estate assessments, including details about calculating market value and comparing 2007 to 2008. "So the goal is to create small enough slices that will accurately reflect the Market Value for specific neighborhoods and/or housing types but large enough to allow enough data to be used to avoid a skewing of the numbers," they wrote. "I have to use the same determination when I generate Competitive Market Analyses for home sellers and it usually entails looking at the market from a broad perspective and then narrowing the focus down until the focus is small enough yet the data is broad enough."

Prediction: Heavy Turnout for Va. Primary
The Virginia primary is next week, and blogger Ric James is predicting a heavy turnout. "Assuming, of course, the people who were calling up furious that their polling places weren’t open yesterday remember to show up next week - the date long scheduled for the primary in this state," he wrote.

Council Members Have Spotty Attendance
The Loudoun Times-Mirror has a story about the number of times Leesburg town officials have been absent from meetings. According to town records, in 2007, all seven town council members were present at only 17 of 45 council meetings.

National Guard Members Return
Members of the Leesburg National Guard have returned to Loudoun after spending almost a year in Iraq, according to Leesburg Today.
