More on the FY09 Budget
Blogger Barbara over at MommyLife has posted her thoughts on the supervisors' approved budget. "The thing I don't get is why, if families have to tighten our belts, the government NEVER has to? It has to be the biggest scam in the world when they talk about cuts in the budget and what they're really talking about is cuts to the proposed budget - meaning the money they're still demanding is still increasing," she wrote.
Real estate bloggers Danilo and Tony also have posted some reaction to the tax rate increase, writing: "It seems the Board of Supervisors were scared by the School Board Superintendent Hatrick into thinking that if we don't continue to increase the school budget forever we will have uneducated children running around ruining our county in the very near future."
Over at Leesburg Tomorrow, blogger Paradox13VA has posted some thoughts on what the new tax rate will mean for Loudoun's schools. "Our Supervisors made a courageous and difficult decision to set the rate at $1.14, now our School Board members must make equally difficult decisions about where to cut our spending on our kids' education," he wrote.
John Stevens writes on his blog, Our Loudoun Schools, that he is still formulating his thoughts on the proposed changes to the school system's budget. "I already have a list of changes I want to see to this proposal. I will wait until after tonight's public input session before finalizing that list, and I will write more about those in the coming days," he wrote.

Ashburn Real Estate
Jonathan Bunn over at The Real Estate Bakery offers some proof that houses in Ashburn are indeed selling. "I took some time this past Saturday morning to wash my car. As I did, I saw multiple Realtors out showing a home close to mine. Either this is an amazing house or there are a lot of people buying," he wrote. "The truth is that there are A LOT OF BUYERS looking to buy right now."
On Fatherhood
Over at DullesDistrict.com, blogger Dave has posted some humorous advice for the Washington Post's Michael Wilbon, who is a new father. "So Mike, again congratulations, and welcome to the club. We eagerly await the day Matthew breaks all of Michael Jordan’s records with the Chicago Bulls," he wrote.
