Blogger Rabble Rouser has posted an update about the Kincora project. " Adding a third large, mixed-use project would most likely saturate the area with commercial and only exacerbate the traffic nightmares we currently experience every day," he wrote. Check out the Lansdowne… and Out in the Open blog for more background on the project.
There's more news about sheriff candidate Greg Ahlemann. Blogger HoodaThunk? has a detailed chronology of Ahlemann's response to a recent article on LoudounExtra.com about Ahlemann's comments on ticket-fixing. "Openness and honesty are qualities we should all be prizing a great deal in our elected officials and it should be rewarded where it springs up," the blogger wrote. Also: The transcript of a chat with Ahlemann is posted on the Loudoun Force blog.
Blogger Paradox13VA has some reaction to LoudounExtra.com blogger Tammi Marcoullier's recent post about the Good Shepherd Alliance's plans to expand in the Ashburn area. "Lori Waters is in a tough race. But sacrificing neighbors who are in need should never be advocated to win a few extra votes … Politicians who try to climb into office on the backs of the poor and disenfranchised neither deserve our support, nor our vote," he wrote.
Times-Mirror blogger Vineeta Ribeiro has a post about how much she hates Halloween. "It’s not the skeletons that disturb me … It’s just the amount of candy I, as a loving and caring parent, am annually compelled to eat," she wrote. For those of you who are looking for something to do this holiday, check out Halloween events on the LoudounExtra.com calendar.
Speaking of Halloween, blogger Ric James over at HoodaThunk? is disgruntled over this year's costume selection. After visiting the costume shop at a local mall, he wrote, "She’s 6. She doesn’t need to look like a sexpot in a Britney Spears video. Can’t we just let them be little kids for a while?" Check out this story from LoudounExtra.com and this story from washingtonpost.com for more.
