The skinny from the coaches on Saturday night's Region II title games at Park View High School:

Boys' Final: Junior Connor Shanosky scored off an indirect kick with 20 seconds left in the second overtime to lift Potomac Falls to a 2-1 win over Broad Run in the AA Region II championship. Shanosky took the ball off his chest, settled it and fired into the top left corner of the net.

The Panthers took a 1-0 lead late in the first half on a goal by Asa Fox, but the Spartans tied it in the 52nd minute when Kevin Reitzel scored off a corner kick by Danny Reatgui.

Both teams advance to the state tournament. Broad Run will play at Jamestown. Potomac Falls will host Grafton.

Girls' Final: Senior Holly King scored three goals, two off corner kicks by sophomore Whitney Church, as No. 2 Broad Run continued its unbeaten season with a 3-0 victory over Heritage in the Virginia AA Region II final.

“We played so well, a perfect game. Everything was right on target,” said Broad Run Coach Claire Collins, whose defending state champion Spartans improved to 20-0-1.

Broad Run and Heritage both advance to the AA state tournament. The Spartans will host Jamestown in a quarterfinal game Tuesday night, while Heritage will play at Courtland.
