We in the LCHS family are proud to announce that Rochelle Latka has been selected to the 2009 Virginian Softball All-Star team. Rochelle has started since her freshman year, totaling 79 games for the Raiders. She as well as her fellow senior teammates have helped bring LCHS back into the competitive fold within the district, with back-to-back regional appearances in 2007 and 2008; as well as state qualifier in 2008.

Post-season accolades include the following: 2006 2nd-team All-District, 2007 first team All-District, 2008 first team All-District and Region, 2008 All AA state selection. All-Met/Extra Honorable Mention 2008.

Rochelle also holds the Virginian single season hits record with 53 hits; single season steals with 32, and career steals with 68 (currently). Rochelle also has a current career fielding percentage of .992, committing only two errors in four years and adding six outfield assists to her impressive career.

Rochelle has a 4.1 GPA, and is an active member of the Latin club, was the Junior Class Vice President, a member of Keyettes service organization, Rotary club, and was a yearbook section editor. She plans on attending William and Mary in the fall, pursuing veterinarian medicine and photograph.
