The state championships were decided, the medals were handed out, the All-Mets and All-Extras were named -- all the classic signs of the end of another school year.
This week, the Post also published its season wrapup stories for the various spring sports. Broad Run girls' soccer was the top item in the soccer story while Broad Run's third straight AA softball state title was put in historical perspective in the softball/baseball notebook.
Along with those stories, we published our final top 10 area rankings for soccer, baseball, softball and lacrosse. There is an interactive element to them, which we've had all season, so don't forget to weigh in. Remember, these polls take into account all the high schools teams in the D.C. metro area, including Maryland and Virginia. But Loudoun County has been well represented this season in the girls' soccer, boys' soccer, baseball, softball and girls' lacrosse polls.
In any case, make your voice heard.
Even as we move into the summer, we'll still be here providing news and notes. As we said the other day, football season is just around the corner!

Who was the leading scorer in girls' high school lacrosse in Loudoun County?
Ashton Marshall '10 of Foxcroft School had 65 goals and 32 assists in 14 games, RUNNING TIME (Foxcroft does not play shot clock games). Ashton outscored Shannon Harkey of Loudoun Valley HS, the Loudoun player of the year.
It seems Foxcroft is overlooked because it is a small private school.
