Leesburg, Va., July 13, 2009: The Leesburg Revolution ’98 travel fastpitch softball team will be representing Leesburg Girls Softball League (LGSL) in the ASA Eastern National Championship July 23-26 in York, PA. The Eastern National Championship brings teams together from 15 states from Maine to Virginia and west to Ohio to determine the top softball team in the north-eastern United States. The Leesburg Revolution is the travel team division of Leesburg Girls Softball the premier softball organization serving central Loudoun County.
The Revolution ’98 is made up of 11, highly motivated and talented girls between the ages of 9-11 from the Leesburg area. The girls of the ’98 Revolution have been practicing and playing together for 11 months only taking two weeks off for the holidays in December.
“First our 8U Freedom team captures the Babe Ruth State title and now the Revolution 98 are playing for a Eastern National Championship. LGSL's future is really bright with all of this young talent in the league.” said Dave Carver, Manager of the Revolution. Carver went on to say he attributes LGSL’s recent success to the quality of the recreational league and the emphasis on professional instruction provided free of charge to all of the recreational league girls beginning at the 6U tee-ball level. "The investment in our girls is starting to pay dividends and our teams’ success proves it was a wise investment as well,” he said.
The ’98 Revolution have set up a twitter account to allow everyone follow the action, their user name is: LBRevolution98 or checkout their website at https://www.revolutionfastpitch.org for team and tournament updates.
