After narrowing his college choices to three earlier this summer, Broad Run senior running back T.J. Peeler decided to continue his football career at the University of Pittsburgh, last week.

Peeler drew much attention following the Spartans' state title run which capped a season in which the bruising tailback tallied 1,145 yards on 129 carries with 17 rushing touchdowns despite playing only 11 games and splitting carries with state player of the year Breon Earl. His 8.9 yards per carry average led the Dulles District.
In the end, Peeler's decision came down to three schools: North Carolina State, West Virginia and Pitt - the first Division I program to seriously recruit the 6-foot-1, 200-pound back. Peeler always indicated that the Panthers were his top choice.
Peeler was a key component to the Spartans' attack in the postseason, rushing for 378 yards and four touchdowns in four playoff games. His 22-carry, 152-yard effort against Chancellor in the AA Virginia state semifinals helped propel Broad Run to the first state championship game in school history.
