Top Performers - Week 6

Matt Brooks at 5:07 p.m., September 30, 2008 (2 comments)

It's Tuesday, which means it's time for Top Performers: your weekly dose of football stats from around Loudoun County. We start with the actual top performers from Week 5, follow that with the results of our Week 5 picks and then name our Week 6 top performer predictions.

Tenorio claimed a rare victory a week ago, but Brooks returned to form in Week 5, skunking Tenorio 7-0 - and that's while picking second. We'll see if Tenorio can get something going in Week 6, otherwise Brooks could lock things up by the halfway point the way things are going.

As always, feel free to post your picks, projections and recommendations for Top Performers at the end of this blog entry, or you can e-mail them to us at matt.brooks@wpni.com or tenoriop@washpost.com.

Here are your super studs from Week 4...

Playmaker: Daniel Allen, Stone Bridge - Allen scored a touchdown on each of his four carries and totaled 167 yards in the Bulldogs' victory.

WEEK 5 PREDICTION RESULTS

Last week, Tenorio pulled a rare 5-2 upset to close the gap to 16-10. This week, order was restored as Brooks proved it doesn't matter who picks first, only who picks the top performers. With his second shutout in four weeks, Brooks extended his lead to 23-10. Whammy!

Here's a look at how our picks fared.

When does a Dulles District team finally get noticed in the Post Top 20?

If Broad Run keeps it up, they'll probably crack the top 20 soon enough. When you have to account for Maryland, D.C. and Virginia schools, it gets a little tricky when there are so many undefeated teams.
