What a joke these awards have been for the last 5 years. 2 punters, 3 coaches of the year. Its now so political its taking away from the young men and the achivements they have made. They should not have anyone on the same first team offense thats on the same first team defense. Once you make a first team anything you should not be eligable for second team anything.

Wow!!! Congrats to all, but I have a math problem for you. 1st in the Dulles District in receptions--1st in the Dulles District in Total Yards--5th in the State in Total Yards. The "answer" should have made 1st team offense.

Look at Andy Pont (Dominion) at DB and how he fared against the top WRs.I think this is more about the coaches that make the most noise, and "I'll vote for your kid if you vote for mine". Certainly has to be the case with regards to Greg Woodlief at DB?!!!

What is the point of the same player making an all-district team at two positions? With an eight team league, are the coaches telling us there is not enough talent to go around so that each position cannot be honored separately? I don't have a dog in this fight since my kids have long ago graduated, but certainly there must be a way to honor more kids who have worked so hard training year-round for a brief moment of recognition.

Ah, I see the haters are making the rounds of all the high school sports pubs. Congratulations to the coaches and players. Thank you coaches, for all of your time and effort on behalf of the boys, and boys- well played.

Broad Run had 18 selections on the first two teams for offense and defense, 13 selections from Briar Woods and 10 for Potomac Falls. Congratulations to all the players selected from these three teams that had a combined record of 27-3. I would also like to congratulate all the other players who made the first two teams and to all the players who were not selected, but should have been.

Anyone who has questions as to who was nominated and why, should defer to their coaches. My understanding is the coaches voted on the athletes. Maybe the criteria was more than just the athletes stats (like sportsmanship, leadership, team player). I really don't know. Regardless...Congratulations to all the nominees and best of luck!

How does Potomac Falls Michael Baker not get picked for Player of the Year? He led the district in rushing yards with 1376 (over 300 more than the next player) and total TDs (almost twice as many as the next player). Yards and TDs are the main offensive stats – not only was he the district leader in both, but it wasn’t even close.
The voters missed this one.

i agree with the other posts that it dosent make sense to have the same player recognized for more than one category. This is not about hating it is about being fair to the other players that also had significant contributions to the game. Loudoun Extra, the papers and coaches routinely focus on the same school and the same players all season long. Unfortuntly, if you expect your child to get any recognition, then you'd better get out your camcorder because neither the neighborhood nor potential colleges will ever see it!

Wah, wah, wah...never ends here, does it? There are always a few folks here that are still trying to relive their glory days through their own kids, crying foul when their own son doesn't make the team. Well boo freaking hoo - get a life.
It is a good thing that Stone Bridge wasn't included in this list, because they would have likely had a player in every spot. I wonder how much complaining about one school dominating the list would have happened then?
If the kids are picked, they deserve it. If they are good enough to make it on both sides of the ball, good for them - they deserve it. Yes, the coaches are saying there is not enough talent, and that these kids making it two ways are damn good. There is no other reason besides "hating" to even bring this up. Sour grapes!
Some of you all should just go back to preparing your snack lists, making your parent tunnels at the end of the game, and coddling your boys into some sort of delusion that they deserve to be here instead of those selected.
