The end of the high school sports season is upon us, but that hardly means the end of sports in Loudoun for the summer. American Legion baseball and Old Dominion Swim League seasons are already underway and we’re committed to bringing you continued coverage of the bats and balls, freestyle and butterfly you can handle.

Our summer swimming coverage kicks off this weekend as I visit the Belmont Country Club at Broadlands swim meet. Tomorrow we’ll debut our 2008 Summer Splash page, which will be updated regularly with the latest scores, rankings and records during the rest of the ODSL season. Paul and I will cover Saturday morning meets and provide enhanced coverage through feature stories, news and notes during the week.

But to do that, WE NEED YOUR HELP! Have a son or daughter or brother or sister who swims in the ODSL? Know a friend who just set a new backstroke record? Are you the next Michael Phelps? Then send us your photos! We want this page to be as interactive and photo-filled as possible. So the next time you head out to Spring Lakes or Ida Lee for a meet, bring your camera and get creative. In your e-mail, please include (1) the meet at which the photos were taken, (2) the name of the photographer and (3) a brief caption explaining what's going on in the photo and naming the people pictured along with their teams.
