The list of accolades just keeps growing for Stone Bridge senior pitcher Tyler Basso. First it was AAA Liberty District Pitcher of the Year, then Northern Region Pitcher of the Year, followed by First Team All-Met and now the right-hander can add First Team All-State honors to the mix.
Joining him in the all-state ranks are teammates Johnny Bladel and Tyler Weaver as both received honorable mentions. Bladel, a junior outfielder, was named Co-Player of the Year in the Liberty District and also made First Team All-Region. Weaver, a senior pitcher who will join Basso at West Virginia University this fall, was also selected to the all-district and all-region teams.
Keep an eye out for the unveiling of all of this spring's all-Extra teams in Sunday's Loudoun Extra. Expect to see another good turnout from the Bulldogs on the first team.
