Two Vikings Selected to All-District Baseball Team

The Loudoun Valley Vikings had two players selected to the AAA All-Cedar Run District teams.

Sophomore Alex Owens was picked as the first baseman for the first team and junior catcher Wes Walker was named to the second team.

Owens led the Vikings with a .440 average and finished with 14 runs scored, seven doubles, one triple, two home runs and 19 RBIs. team in hitting with a .433 average. He also recorded a .517 on-base-percentage and drew nine walks while slugging .660.

Walker was was Valley's second best offensive player, finishing the season with a .385 average, with 14 RBIs on 20 hits and scoring 11 runs. He also defended his position extremely well, posting a .978 fielding percentage while handling the pitching staff.

The Vikings' season ended with a 7-4 loss to Osbourn in the Cedar Run District tournament quarterfinals. They finished with a 9-12 mark on the year.
