Holy Costumed Party, Batman!

Matt Brooks at 12:29 p.m., July 18, 2008

All right, so this isn't really sports related, but there are several former and one current high school athletes in the photo below.

Plenty of people - sports fans and commoners alike - are psyched about this weekend's opening of The Dark Knight, the sequel to 2005's Batman Begins. One particular group of boys was so amped up for the release that they pulled up their brightest yellow tights, tied on black masks and went out for the midnight showing at Regal Cinemas in Sterling last night. Never mind that Dick Grayson and his alter-ego aren't featured in this one...

All former and current Potomac Falls Panthers, (from L to R) the boys are:

Matt Clem - Class of 2007, Soccer

Brad Byrd - 2007, Basketball

Chase Whitlow - 2007, Football

Anthony Baracat - 2009, Lacrosse

Willie Mears - 2008, Basketball

Scott Frankenfield - 2007

Nice work, gentleman. Devoted students of the game, film-goers and now, accomplished seamsters.

I, for one, will be out to see the Dark Knight this evening...but I just might have to leave my tights at home.
