Freedom High School announced today that Derek Gaunt has been named the new head varsity boys' basketball coach. Gaunt has served as the boys' freshman coach since 2007 and replaces Kevin Weeren, who resigned following the 2008-09 season. Read more of this post »

This July, Liberty High School (Bealton) will host one session of the Chuck Driesell Basketball Camp. The week of July 20, boys and girls age 7-15, can sign up to participate in one of the top camps in the area, directed by University of Maryland assistant coach, Chuck Driesell. Will Garrett, a 2009 graduate of The Highland School in Warrenton, finished his high school lacrosse career this spring with the highest scoring total in area history. His 405 total points are the best known total of any high school lacrosse player in the region. Read more of this post »
